25 years of caring for people in need
Reunited - Hair Havens staff and volunteers
Reunited - Hair Havens staff and volunteers

STAFF and volunteers who have worked at Fair Havens over the years celebrated its 25th anniversary.

About 50 people attended a special anniversary tea at Fair Havens day care centre in Second Avenue, Westcliff, to mark the milestone.

Many brought along photos or pieces of memorabilia which reminded them of their time at the charity.

Director of care, Sharon Paradine, said: "Looking back at our records, it is amazing to see not only how many patients Havens Hospices has cared for, but the sheer number of staff and volunteers who helped make this happen.

"It was a nice occasion where old friends met up and reminisced about the past 25 years. It is also an exciting time to look forward to what the future holds."

The hospice for adults opened its doors in Westcliff, on June 13, 1983.

Throughout June, over 300 birthday parties are being held across Essex on behalf of Havens Hospices to help raise money for the charity. These range from cake sales in schools to events in the workplace.
