Hammers target cloud nine

LAKESIDE Hammers will be looking to extend their unbeaten home run to nine matches when they entertain Wolverhampton in the Elite League tonight.

The Hammers have the league's only 100 per cent home record and Lakeside owner Stuart Douglas is aware of the challenge posed by the visitors.

"Wolverhampton have an extremely capable team that can all ride our track very well so it's vital that we remain on our toes tonight," he said.

While the Hammers are pushing for the league title, their opponents are struggling at the opposite end of the table just one place above bottom-placed Coventry.

Joonas Kylmakorpi continues in the Hammers' top five while Lubos Tomicek and Ricky Kling are at reserve.

Wolverhampton will be led by current Grand Prix riders Fredrick Lindgren and Niels Kristian Iversen, and they also include the experienced Ales Dryml and British international David Howe.

Former Hammer Christian Hefenbrock is ruled out with a hand injury and the visitors will utilise the rider replacement facility.

The match starts at 8pm, but there will be a series of junior races between 6.45pm and 7.15pm.
