£600 for StrokeBusters

SOUTHEND Ladies Circle chose the StrokeBusters Appeal as their charity for the year and raised £600.

The money will go towards the fundraising target of £250,000 for the benefit of stroke patients at Southend Hospital.

Diana Hall, chairman of Southend Ladies Circle, said: "The StrokeBusters Appeal was my chosen charity for the year as my father had a stroke in 2004. With the launch of the appeal at the same time as I became chairman I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to be able to give something back to the hospital."

The group held a number of events throughout the years.

Ladies Circle is for women aged between 18 and 45 years who want to have fun, socialise, make new friends and fundraise. Southend 101 Ladies Circle has nine members and usually meets on the second Tuesday of each month.

For information on activities and membership contact Diana Hall on 07730 127563 or email dianarhall@talktalk.net
