Diana Hall presents the cheque to stroke unit staff

SOUTHEND Ladies' Circle chose the StrokeBusters Appeal as its charity for the year and raised £600.

The money will go towards the fundraising target of £250,000 for the benefit of stroke patients at Southend Hospital.

Diana Hall, chairman of Southend Ladies' Circle, said: "StrokeBusters was my charity for the year as my father had a stroke in 2004. I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to be able to give something back to the hospital."
